Rare Vintage 1967 Gibson ES-125 DC Custom Switchmaster

My favorite way to consider this guitar is with the hind sight that when it was handcrafted by Gibson Jimi Hendrix was just a young guy playing guitar and selling shows, such a fascinating and functioning time capsule. This unique player's grade 60s era Gibson ES-125CD was converted to what can only be described as the better alternative to a Switchmaster at the time, it is a true gigging and recording workhorse and with the fully hollow body it also makes a fantastic couch guitar to explore musical ideas without the immediate need to plug in to an amp. At some point in the 70s/80s many thoughtful musician savvy modifications were made including the middle 60s/70s Gibson p90 which was added along with individual phase switches and volume/tone knobs for each pickup, and to top it off a master volume knob located on the cutaway. Black blinding was added to the neck as well as black and white multiply binding was added to the body, and headstock, the headstock veneer was also upgraded to mother of pearl and the guitar was refinished in a gorgeous tobacco boarder burst with a nitro finish so the beautiful vintage checking and wear is present as one would expect from a 56 year old Gibson. Currently the guitar is set up with a set of 9 or 10 jazz flat wounds and is a joy to play, the neck is straight and the truss is smooth with plenty of adjustment. The only issue presently is that the neck switch is intermittent and cuts out, it likely just needs the connection resoldered, an easy fix but I just have too many projects and instruments at the moment to dig into this one.
