These where popular homemade instruments in the late 19th early 20th century long before the blues, and long long before the current wave of cigar box guitar building.  this is our version of one and in the best tradition of cigar boxes made from offcuts and re-used parts. to play it you sit it on your lap or hold between the knees and bow it like you would a cello.
24" scale length maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Maple bridge abalone dot markers ebony nut rosewood tailpiece and endpin re-used machine head.

Antiqued to replicate a well used early 1900's instrument.   Its purely acoustic and is quite loud for a small box
