1971 M.G. Contreras 1a Signed Cypress and Spruce Flamenco Guitar

Here is an excellent condition, 1971 Manuel Contreras Flamenco Guitar.

This is a highest level concert grade flamenco guitar. It was made by Manuel Contreras in Madrid, Spain.

This particular guitar is one of the highest level flamenco guitars ever built by Contreras.

The overall condition of this guitar is excellent. There were a few hairline cracks in the lower back and one in the upper back, as well as one in the top below the bridge. These have all been professionally repaired to be strong and stable while retaining the instrument's original resonance.

This hand crafted guitar was built using solid Cypress for the back and sides, a cedar neck and a solid spruce top. The binding and headstock cap are made using the finest Brazilian rosewood. The guitar has a beautiful Contreras signature rosette with matching bridge embellishment.

Scale length on this guitar is 658 millimeters. This scale length gives the guitar easy playability and reach. Nut width is 52 millimeters. The ebony fretboard is in excellent condition. The guitar has just been refretted. Action on the 12th fret low E string is 2.5 millimeters and the 12th fret high E string measures 2.4 millimeters with room on the saddle to lower the action even further.

This guitar comes equipped with hand engraved silver Fustero tuning keys. They are smooth and hold tune well.

The signed original label is in excellent condition

The guitar will be carefully packed and shipped in a good condition hardshell case.
