Greco GOB-1200 1978 Natural Four String Bass

GRECO was established in 1960. In early stage, they produced Fender & Gibson copy models.
But in the late 1970s, GRECO produced their own design guitar & bass guitar. GOB is their first orignal Bass.

This is GOB-1200, the top end model of GOB series.
Beautiful curved top body, Neck through construction, Brass nut, 3 band EQ Active circuit with master Tone, Active/Passive selecter, Series/Parallel selecter for only Rear PU (This is useful!).

Head & body shape is resemblance to ALEMBIC ?
We can guess GRECO got inspiration from world top brand of those days. But they didn't fully copy ALEMBIC's design.

PUs lay out is same as G&L ?
2xHumbucker PU with height adjustable scew pole, this is actually same as G&L idea, but GOB is produced in 1977. 3 years before G&L's instrument appears.
This is GRECO's original idea.



Throughout GRECO's 60 years history, We are sure GOB is one of the memorial model.

Body: Many dent.

Neck: Straight.

Truss rod: Functional.

Hardware: Works, but dull.
Bridge plate has bent. Originally, it's curved but because of the string tension, bottom of plate got flat now.
No problem for adjusting string hight & octave tuning.
If you don't like it, you can bend back the plate by hitting.

Electronics: Works.
