I named this Vintage classical Ethel, after the music teacher who gave it to me years ago. She heard that I was doing guitar lessons for free at an inner-city community center, and wanted me to have the instrument she'd used to teach for over 30 years! With so much love behind it and being in such gorgeous condition, it was hard for me to sell. I'm moving to Los Angeles for ministry work and music however, so I have to downsize most of my instruments. Hoping that Ethel finds a wonderful home!
Again, she's in marvelous condition for any antique. Especially when you consider that she's been actively used in lessons and performance for most of her instrument life.
This guitar has a beautiful resonance and low action, making it very easy to learn on, play and enjoy. The body is lightweight and of sturdy Bavarian construction.
I have verified my research with the Framus museum in Germany. She is an authentic Framus Ideal model, made in June of 1962. Spruce Top, Maple sides & back, rosewood bridge and Bridge.
There is a tiny chip in the finish on the right side of the soundhole. I included a closeup picture, but I can't even see it, only felt it when looking for any damage. Also when taking photos I noticed glue at the nut, so have included closeup photos of that as well as a screenshot of the email from the Framus Museum.
