Peerless Retromatic P3 Gloss Black 2013 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a Peerless Retromatic P3 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar in Gloss Black finish. Built in Korea in 2013, this guitar features a set neck construction consisting of a Laminated Maple body with a Mahogany centre block, a Maple neck and a 22 Medium Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard with a Bone nut. This guitar is fitted with Chrome hardware including a Tune-O-Matic bridge with a Stetsbar tailpiece and a set of locking tuning machines. The pickups installed are a Peerless Humbucker in the bridge and a Peerless P90 in the neck, these are wired to a 3-way selector, master volume, master tone and a Varitone switch. 

The Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the ‘D’ profile feeling stable and secure in the hand, providing a smooth and articulate playing experience. The excellent selection of Rosewood on the fingerboard oozes prestige, providing a smooth playing surface for the user to explore, along with the 12” radius and Medium Jumbo frets making bending and vibrato techniques a breeze. The single cutaway body design provides the player with unobstructed access to the higher register, great for those high end lead lines, whilst the semi-hollow construction makes this guitar easy on the shoulders for long gigs.

The Retromatic P3 comes fitted with a Peerless Humbucker and P90, with excellent clarity and a focus on the uncompressed sound. The Varitone style switch offers a myriad of incredible adjustments, bringing you from dark, warm jazz tones to sharp, snappy twang. The neck position sounds thick and full, with a rich low end great for rhythm tonalities. The middle position provides a punchy, tight midrange great for chordal styles of playing whilst being able to cut through a mix. The bridge position produces a clear and articulate top end, balancing very well with a punchy output,  providing a great feel and clarity, allowing the player to achieve a wide variety of tones all at the fingertips.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the headstock display light scratching which is only visible under direct light, as is common with gloss finishes.

Neck: Overall excellent condition. The rear of the neck displays light scratching across the register, these can only be seen under direct light. Light lateral scratching is present to the fingerboard across the register, these can only be seen under direct light and can not be felt in the playing position.

Body: Overall very good condition. Light chipping is present to the rear face lower bout edge, these have chipped the lacquer finish but do not expose the wood. All aspects of the body display light to mild scratching which can be seen under direct light, as is common with gloss finishes.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. Light flattening of the frets is apparent throughout the register.  There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the metal hardware display mild tarnishing of the finish, this is consistent with past use. Tremolo arm included.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
