Vintage Analog Mic Pre Vocal Limiter Compressor Ducker Creative Effects FX

Beautiful and All Funky Analog Cresta Automix mic pre - compressor / ducker. Made for either radio and / or the film industry back in the 70s. Fully working and sounds beautiful. I think as a mic pre - even though it's lofi, the mic signal is always running through the ducking limiter whether it's triggered or not - so you get that kinda soft grittiness that's very pleasing. Not a sales pitch - I actually really like the vocal tone from this thing .... it's sweet. The 2nd input (music) is the audio that the mic ducks when you sing or speak into it - so we used to run some ambient audio into the music input and get the vocalist to freestyle over that - and when you get the vocal timing right there's this super lovely ebb and flow unlike anything you've heard before. With this in mind we then started to use it in sessions - but we'd just run the backing track into the music input then get the vocalist to sing over that and record the outcome, and as soon as they got their timing right you end up with this beautiful silvery - breathing Thing that you just couldn't get any other way. Solved a Lot of problem vocals that way - and it always worked! So - I couldn't find a way to run audio into the mic input - it's just too sensitive - sorry!All inputs and outputs are on unbalanced jacks - I made up some adaptors for the weird old din connectors so you're good to go. Runs on a regular 9v PP3 battery (guitar pedal battery - not included as they're illegal to post).Gitcha some real deal analog creative in that studio!!
