Electric Banjo Conversion Device MORTone JoSonic JS2

The JoSonic Electric Banjo Conversion Device replaces the standard 11” banjo head on an acoustic banjo to create a solid top electric banjo with a hardtail bridge and electronics for external amplification.

The JoSonic Device eliminates the tone of the banjo head leaving a purely electric sound similar to that of a solid body electric guitar.

The JoSonic Device is designed to be used on banjos with a 26.5” scale length.

It is equipped with a hardtail bridge which allows individual saddle adjustments for intonation and string height (action).

The electronics and bridge are mounted on a solid surface for rigidity, added string sustain, and a purely electronic output signal.

The JoSonic Device directly replaces a standard 11” banjo head, and requires no invasive and/or permanent modifications to the banjo. The JoSonic Device mounts to the banjo pot using the banjo’s original head mounting hardware but does not require tensioning procedures like that of a standard banjo head.

The JoSonic Device uses standard ball end electric guitar string gauges: 0.024 (nickel wound), 0.016, 0.012, & 0.010 (x2).

One set of strings is included with each JoSonic purchase. Written installation and operation instructions are included along with a hyperlink to an instructional video on YouTube.

The JS2 is equipped with two single coil pickups, one pickup selector switch, one volume control, and one tone control. Both the JS1 and JS2 are equipped with a 1/4” output jack for use with conventional electric guitar style cables.

The JoSonic comes standard with a low crown style head, single coil pickup(s) in white color, mirrored or white pickup rings, black or chrome switch tip, and black or chrome knobs.

PLEASE NOTE: For proper installation, The JoSonic Device requires a minimum distance of 20mm as measured between the underside of the standard banjo head and the nearest coordinator rod. The JoSonic Device is best suited for an inner rim diameter of 26.5 cm (10 7/16”), which may exclude arch top banjos as feasible candidates for conversion. The JoSonic Device has been designed for optimal use with flat top banjos.
