Fender Rhodes Suitcase 73 Fully Restored

This Rhodes has been fully restored, top to bottom.  All tines removed, measured and squared, cleaned, and replaced where necessary.  Tone bars nickel plated.  The harp supports have been cut out to avoid contact and subsequent buzzing against the tone bars. Tone bar assembly reassembled and reinstalled with new screws, washers and grommets, and regulated for consistent volume and tone.  3” red pickups, cleaned of any oxidation.  

Action perfectly regulated: keys leveled, aligned and dipped according to service manual specifications.  Keytops cleaned and polished.  New damper felts installed and regulated with key action and sustain pedal. Backchecks have been added to all of the keys, reducing the hammer bounce and subsequent key bounce found on all factory Rhodes.  This is a great modification that adds to the responsiveness of the keys. 

All electronics restored: electrolytic capacitors replaced, transistors where necessary, resistors when out of spec.  Three prong A/C adaptor installed.  L.E.D. installed instead of A/C lamp for low noise.  Original germanium transistors in power amp preserved and updated with silicon heat sinks; properly biased and quiet!  4-Pin cable cleaned and resoldiered.  

External case re-tolexed with new hardware, new logos, and beautiful new grill cloth.  Legs aluminum brushed.  Cheek blocks and harp cover sanded and re-painted.  

I am an acoustic piano tech in the Buffalo NY area.  I tune by ear.  I put a great deal of time and effort into my restorations and would be happy to answer any questions you may have about this keyboard.  This is a studio quality instrument ready for another 40 years of service!  I am confident in saying that it is currently in better condition than the day it left the Rhodes factory!  You won’t be disappointed!
