The Dynaudio BM15A is a large two-way active monitor for nearfield and midfield work, for engineers who need more level and low end than a compact desk monitor gives. A 240 mm MSP woofer with a 100 mm aluminum voice coil and a version of Dynaudio's Esotec soft dome tweeter each have their own discrete MOSFET amplifier, 200 W and 100 W, fed by a phase-aligned electronic crossover. The front-ported cabinet reaches down to 40 Hz, and a pair plays up to 124 dB at 1 m.

Left and Right Versions

The BM15A comes as dedicated left and right speakers. This listing is the left speaker, sold singly; add a BM15A Right for a stereo pair.

Controls and Protection

Rear-panel switches set the input sensitivity for +4 or -10 sources, and HF and LF trims adjust each end of the response by up to 6 dB to suit the room. Two LEDs on the front baffle show power or fault status and clipping in the woofer amplifier. The protection circuit disconnects the drivers on thermal overload or DC at the outputs, and an optical limiter keeps sustained overload away from the tweeter while transients pass uncompressed.
