TODA GUITARS is the brand of Japanese luthier Shinji Toda, based in Maibara, Shiga Prefecture. With more than 30 years of experience, Toda has established a strong reputation for creating highly original handmade instruments, including ukuleles, electric guitars, acoustic guitars, nylon-string guitars, harp guitars, and multi-string instruments.

This is the TODA GUITARS VB ALL Wild Mango, a newly developed baritone ukulele featuring an all-Wild Mango body.

Rather than using plantation-grown Mango, this instrument is made from Wild Mango, giving the body a particularly striking and exotic appearance. The wood features bold, irregular figuring with dramatic variations in color and grain, creating a powerful and natural visual character.

Wild Mango is also notably hard and responsive. The instrument produces a full-bodied yet crisp tone, combining substantial thickness with excellent articulation. This tonal character makes the VB ALL suitable for a wide range of applications, from solo playing to backing vocals.

The instrument offers excellent high-position playability and stable intonation, allowing players to move around the fingerboard without feeling restricted. The level of response and playability is particularly impressive for a handmade baritone ukulele.

TODA GUITARS' baritone ukuleles are known for producing a guitar-like character even in the smaller soprano and tenor sizes. The larger baritone body and longer scale of this model bring that guitar-like character even further forward.

The tuning is D-G-B-E, corresponding to the pitches of the guitar's 6th through 3rd strings. This makes the instrument particularly familiar to guitar players and provides an easy transition for those looking to incorporate a baritone ukulele into their playing.

The Koa pickguard, Koa rosette, and Koa logo provide an elegant contrast to the Wild Mango body, while the overall construction reflects Toda's highly individual approach to handmade instruments.
