Lightweight mid-1965 SG Standard with a strong acoustic response and a stable feel overall. The neck angle is good and the Maestro setup works superbly (probably one of the most functional examples I've come across). This gives the guitar a settled, confident feel in use. Resonant, lively, and immediate unplugged. Retains the transitional nut width, measuring just over 40mm. It sits between the earlier wide necks and the later narrow-nut examples and feels balanced in the hand. There is a very old neck heel repair. The repair included two dowels, visible when the plastic cover above the neck pickup is removed. The rear of the neck heel shows two small impressions consistent with clamp marks from the original repair.

A localised clear nitro overspray was applied to this area many years ago and has melted in with the original finish. The guitar has since been refretted and plays cleanly up the board. Chrome parts are in great condition. Nice amount of checking to the finish. Structurally stable, well settled, and clearly played and maintained over a long life. Somehow has never had a headstock repair. Pots date to the 37th week of '65. Hell yeah.
