1949 Conn 2B New World Symphony
The late model Conn 2B New World Symphony was the successor to the 8B Symphony Grand “Gustat” model and was perhaps their most French-inspired trumpet. Like most Bessons from this age, this horn has a feather-light one-piece bell, underslung 3rd slide, and medium-large bore size. Conn added a 1st slide trigger assembly and their unique .480” bore size 1st slide assembly for improved intonation. The valves are Conn’s famous Cry-Steel, and are bottom sprung. The nickel plating is in good shape, and the compression is strong for the age of the instrument, but a "vintage" valve oil is still recommended. The bottom sprung valves are a little bouncy, as is true with most vintage horns. This trumpet appears to have been relacquered, but the bell engraving is still quite crisp. There is one discreet patch on the 2nd slide, and it appears the bell and pinky hook have both been resoldered. The original case is included.
