The Sontronics DM-1T is a small-diaphragm condenser microphone built specifically for miking rack and floor toms, with equal suitability for bongos, djembes, tablas, and congas. Its cardioid polar pattern focuses capture directly on the drum head while rejecting off-axis bleed, and a frequency response stretching from 30 Hz to 20 kHz ensures both the low-end thump and the high transient attack of percussion are faithfully reproduced. Sensitivity sits at 8 mV/Pa, equivalent noise is a clean 14 dB(A), and a switchable -10 dB pad raises the maximum SPL handling to 135 dB — enough headroom for even the hardest hitters. The mic ships with a screw-on drum rim clamp for quick, secure positioning, requires 48 V phantom power, and connects via a standard 3-pin XLR.
