Up for sale is a rare and highly regarded Cornford Harlequin Mk1, serial number 0992. This is an early production example of the amp that started the Cornford legacy.
Hand-built in the UK by Paul Cornford and Martin Kidd, the Harlequin Mk1 is a pure single-ended Class A design delivering just 6 watts of glorious valve tone. Perfect as a studio/recording amp but surprisingly loud and dynamic when cranked. It produces rich, harmonically complex tones with excellent touch sensitivity – everything from sparkling cleans to singing, compressed overdrive.
Key Specs:
- 6 Watts Class A (single EL84 power tube)
- 2 x 12AX7 preamp tubes
- 1 x 12" Celestion G12M Greenback (or equivalent – confirm if original)
- Volume, Bass, Treble, Master Volume controls
- Voice switch (changes character/tone)
- Hi & Lo inputs
- Solid pine cabinet with oxblood-style tolex (classic look)
