Here for sale we have a 7 string electric baritone guitar from Polish manufacturer Mayones. Founded in Gdansk in 1982, Mayones specialise in handcrafting custom made instruments, whilst also offering a line of high end production models.

This guitar features a thru-neck construction consisting of 11-ply Maple-Mahogany-Wenge-Amazakoe neck with 24 fret Ebony fingerboard and Mahogany wings. Other appointments include Sperzel locking tuning machines and Fixed ABM 3257 bridge. The original pickups in this guitar have been replaced with a DiMarzio 707 humbucking pickup in the neck and a Bare Knuckle humbucker in the bridge. These are wired to a 3-way pickup selector, master volume with push/pull and and master tone controls.

The Slim ‘D’ neck profile sits comfortably in the hand, with the Gloss finish providing for smooth and effortless navigation up and down the neck. The Ebony fingerboard adds a sense of luxury as well as a robust playing surface. The double cutaway body design provides uninhibited access to the upper register, with large cutaways that ensures that even players with large hands are well accommodated. The 1.9” nut width makes the 7th string extremely accessible.

Amplified, the DiMarzio in the neck produces a powerful but balanced rock and metal tone with rich upper-midrange harmonic content that sings when heavily overdriven yet rings crystal clear on cleaner amp settings. The Bare Knuckle in the bridge delivers again a rich-mid range with fat saturated tones when overdriven. The split coil function on the volume control makes single coil sounds possible adding a lot of versatility. The rest of the controls are kept simple and unobtrusive to the playing experience.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall excellent condition, the top rear edge of the headstock demonstrates some light scuffing apparent only under close inspection. All aspects demonstrate very light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles, as is common with high gloss finish.

Neck: Overall excellent condition, it is difficult to discern any markings to the neck and fingerboard.

Body: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates light indentation along the lower bout, visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. Between the pickups and the treble side waist consistent light scratching can be identified, causing a hazing of the finish under direct lighting at certain angles. A small chip to the finish is apparent in the neck pickup cavity. The bottom edges demonstrate some light scuffing, most consistently on the treble side lower bout.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate minimal signs of use.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear, most notably oxidation of the saddle set screws.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
