Rare 1970 Orange PA Tube Amplifier Head – Fully Serviced – Excellent Condition

1970 Orange PA tube amplifier head by Orange Amplification. This is an original PA (Public Address) head — designed in the early 1970s for sound reinforcement systems rather than as a standard instrument amplifier. These were powerful installation amps intended for voice and full-range audio systems. Thanks to their massive headroom, robustness, and tonal flexibility, they quickly became popular with musicians and were widely used for instruments during that era. These early Orange PA heads are increasingly hard to find, especially in this condition. This unit delivers 120 watts of all-tube power and features four completely independent channels, each with its own individual EQ section — effectively functioning like a tube mixer combined with a power amplifier in a single chassis. The result is huge dynamic range, exceptional punch, and remarkable tonal control. I have always used it for bass, where it sounds phenomenal: massive low end, tight response, and huge authority. It is also exceptional — perhaps even better — for guitar, adding more body, stronger low-end dynamics, and significantly more punch compared to many traditional instrument heads. The amp has been recently re-valved and has been professionally serviced. Everything works perfectly. Cosmetically, it is in excellent condition. There is no structural or cosmetic damage to report — just the expected signs of age and use, consistent with a well-preserved 1970 amplifier. The overall appearance is remarkably clean for its age.
