The magnificent Tamura transformers are known worldwide as some of the highest grade. They're built to an extraordinary spec and sound like it! These TF21019A's came from an Otari tape machine and have a 10db passive boost. Sonically they are gorgeous and will enhance and beautify anything you run through them. In the video you can hear them adding space, warmth and shimmer at low settings - then as we push more db's of audio into them they start to distort in a most pleasing way. They are more for live Rock, Pop, Acoustic / Classical music - anything extra sub bass heavy will make them overdrive too much (unless you like that kinda thing!) - but for all other types of music - amazing!! You can also use them to gently saturate harsh vocals or strings - and soften the audio in a very pleasing way. My main uses for them are vocals, strings, piano and guitars. Stick a pair on a guitar bus (electric or acoustic) - use your daw's i/o utility to saturate them as you like - and prepare to be amazed. Same for strings and piano. Sublime.
