The original LP Afuche/Cabasa was Latin Percussion's second patented invention. It was developed over thirty years ago and since then has become the most popular hand percussion instrument ever created!
This ingenious instrument is constructed using endless loops of steel beaded chain wrapped around a specially textured, stainless steel cylinder. Plastic flanges enclose the cylinder and a smooth plastic handle is attached at the bottom.
The LP Afuche/Cabasa was designed to create rhythmic scraping sounds and patterns. The beads can be manipulated against the textured steel or the instrument can be spun or shaken for varying sounds, the likes of which can be heard in music all over the world. The larger models produce louder, fuller sounds while the smaller models provide more control and softer volumes. This instrument is a must have for every percussionists's arsenal.
