Up for sale is my 2017 Gibson Les Paul Classic in the timeless Goldtop finish. Has a very nice dark rosewood fretboard which looks amazing against the gold finish. All hardware and plastics are original. Case is in excellent condition and will include whatever it was shipped with (from memory I think this was the COA, a photo of the guitar and a Gibson multi tool).

I’ve owned this since new so I’ve kept it in good condition with only a few dings here and there. The pickguard mounting bracket did put a small chip where it touches the body. This was how it was delivered to me but I wasn’t fussed as it’s hidden under the pickguard anyway.

The main talking points:

• I swapped out the Gibson humbuckers for an EMG 55 zebra set with full EMG electronics. This was for more output while also keeping that classic PAF vibe and also for ease of swapping to other EMG humbuckers. Please look up some reviews or demos of these if you are unsure about them – they are very well-regarded pickups.

• The paint has developed a vertical checking along the length of the body. From what I can gather this is a common Gibson “fault” with the Goldtop paint. Again, I wasn’t fussed as it looks cool IMO.

• I lightly sanded the back of the neck for a more satin feel to make it easier to play as I’m not really a fan of gloss necks. Over the years this has shined back up to an almost semi-gloss finish.

This Goldtop does hold sentimental value and I’m sure I’ll regret selling but I’m just looking to slim down the collection to the absolute essentials due to lack of playing time.
