RM100M MTS Series 6-Channel 100-Watt Head plays ALL SYNERGY modules

This amp will play ALL Synergy and Egnater modules, including the Marshall JCM800 and Diezel Herbert modules. It sounds AMAZING. Only selling because I now have two!

It has been upgraded with the Yuneo dual channel midi board AND an additional 15v power supply (in the black box) that is required for the new Marshall JCM800 and Diezel Herbert modules and, quite likely, other modules to follow. These modules can be played in slots 1 & 2 but not in slot 3. All modules ever made by Synergy, Egnater and Randall can be played in this head, as well as those modded by Jaded Faith, Salvation, etc.

The three-way Cathode Bypass Switch allows you to select the setting that best suits the module, with settings originating from Fender, Marshall and Soldano, so that vintage, classic and modern styles are accommodated. I tend to leave it on the Marshall setting but the others are there so you can get the tone just right.

Further improvements include:

The “Foglifter” mod that clears up the sound with the DENSITY and PRESENCE controls.

Old electrolytic capacitors (blue ones in pic) have been replaced with new high quality electrolytic capacitors (black ones in pic) by Kemet and Rubycon.

The old noisy fan has been replaced with a high efficiency silent fan.

Two pairs of EL34 output tubes. One pair is JJ, the other is Ruby.

The tubes can be individually AND VERY EASILY biased which allows unrivalled flexibility. As long as the inner pair of tubes are the same type and the outer pair are the same type you can get creative. You can use 6L6, EL34, KT66, KT77, KT88, 5881, 6550. Any with the same octal base and pinout. The types and bias values are listed in the manual, a copy of which is available for digital download. A basic multimeter can be used to read the bias value and a screwdriver can alter the voltage to suit. It’s mega simple.

The six available channels can be selected with the midi controller of your choice. Many players prefer an integrated solution, such as Helix, to switch channels and FX with a single stomp. No foot switch is included. The original three-channel foot switches will not work once the dual-channel mod is installed. Without a midi switcher you can still change channel from the push button on the front panel.

400mA fuses are recommended for EL34 type tubes. The 250mA (stock) rating is advised for 6L6 type. It is currently fitted with 400mA but are very simple to replace (just a twist with a screwdriver and the fuse holder pops out).

I would recommend downloading the manual from Randall Amplifiers to see exactly what this amp is capable of. It’s in the Legacy Manuals section, and scroll down to the LAST entry for RM100, the earlier ones are just about MIDI programming (which are not relevant to the dual-channel upgrade).

NOTES:

I can change the four pointer knobs from white to black if you prefer, or back to the original metal knurled knobs.
