Released in 1993, the Quasimidi Quasar is a 2U rack-mounted digital synthesizer module from Germany, built around M.A.S.S. (Multi Algorithm Sound Synthesis), which combined PCM samples with FM and additive synthesis. It offers 24-voice polyphony, a 16-way multimode, and over 1,100 sounds that were developed specifically for electronic dance and pop music of the 1990s.
