Hello. I've been selling drum equipment since 2002 on other internet sites and am happy to join Reverb. I specialize in all drum things "Gretsch" and have restored vintage kits for the last 20 years.
I've been a professional drummer and educator of 40+ years, and my primary experience has been jazz.
When I began studying the drums at 11 years, I was fortunate enough to study with jazz drummer extraordinaire Terry McNeil (Rockford, IL) and started playing area clubs at 14. After graduating from high school, I pursued the study of music at North Texas State University. I am an '86 alum of that fine school and continue to gig in the Midwest.
I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about vintage gear and projects you're working on. Lately, I've been getting into restoring old bass drum pedals (the kind with leather straps). I also do leather crafting and offer "In the Pocket" leather straps for drum pedals like the 1960s-70s Gretsch "Floating Action," Martin Fleetfoot, Slingerland Tempo King, Ludwig Universal Speed-Master, and Camco designs.
