Special Conditions

Note on Vintage Items: Many of the items in my shop are 30 to 40 years old, often had several past owners, and will have some degree of cosmetic wear. However, all vintage items I sell are fully refurbished with warranty unless otherwise stated. I keep this in mind when I rate the condition of my listings of used gear accordingly. If a 20+ year old synthesizer or piece of rack gear is listed as "Excellent" or "Very Good", it may still include minor cosmetic imperfections which will be mentioned clearly in the description, and shown clearly in photos from multiple angles. I always err on the side of caution and will go down a rating as opposed to up if I am not sure. So something I list as "Good" or "Very Good", another seller may consider to be "Excellent" for that age. I reserve "Excellent" for truly exceptional for their age synthesizers that still look new and fresh. Synths I list as "Fair" may be in physically poor condition but are electrically 100% sound and working. I always make sure all gear I sell passes the original factory specs before I list it for sale. I am making this explicitly clear, because when you are shopping for vintage synthesizers/samplers/etc, some sellers use "Excellent" as a marker of how well a vintage synth works even if it looks bad, whereas some sellers use "Excellent" for an item which has electrical issues impeding its basic functionality which are otherwise in exceptional cosmetic shape. Please note that Reverb’s condition guidelines, which apply to all items sold on Reverb, are written with a focus on "musical instruments" as opposed to "Pro audio gear" ("musical instruments" being items such as guitars, violins, drums, etc; as opposed to "pro audio gear" being things like rackmount units, microphone, power supply, and other items which may be found in a studio or "behind the scenes" of a live performance). Pro audio gear often differs from musical instruments in this respect in that items may display surface wear, such as minor top or bottom scratches ("rack rash" on rackmount units, as an example), resulting from standard installation and removal processes. These marks do not affect functionality and are frequently unavoidable due to typical and expected usage environments. Accordingly, return requests based solely on cosmetic imperfections that were clearly visible in listing photos, or are consistent with the age of the item (e.g., minor plastic discoloration) will not be considered valid claims under the "Item Not as Described" policy. Return requests based on technical limitations of the item itself also will not be considered valid claims under the "Item Not as Described" policy (for example, a sampler from 1985 might have a very small amount of sampling memory, resulting in a pre-defined maximum amount of audio that the unit can store at any one time; a return request based on the buyer's misconception, misunderstanding, or ignorance of such specifications would not be considered "Not as Described"). Such returns are subject to a restocking fee and deduction of original shipping costs.

Make sure to check the return policy on each individual listing as some items may be sold "As-Described" and not eligible for a return.

Manufacturers and Safety Information

All our products are GPSR compliant (when refurbishing units, we from Mouser or Digikey and otherwise suitable for import into the EU) or excluded from GPSR (items may be marketed as collectibles/antique or for restoration; or are "new old stock"). We believe the distinction is clear enough that we do not explicitly note which of this a given item is in each item description. For this reason, feel free to contact for further details on any of our items if clarification is requested or required. We always prefer to have the communication and resolve any uncertainties ahead of time and will be happy to clarify any given item's GSPR status in writing. We aim to be sustainable and ecologically conscious by using FSC certified 100% post-consumer recycled paper for all printed materials, and we take effort to reduce waste wherever possible. We work with local e-cycler nonprofits to responsibly dispose of electronic waste.
