In 1980, at 16 years old, I got my start at Le Studio Morin Heights doing a bit of everything—from clearing snow and making tea to setting up mics. That front-row seat let me observe legendary engineers and producers like Terry Brown, Paul Northfield, and Hugh Padgham work with iconic acts like Rush and The Police. (To name all the talent I witnessed at Le Studio would necessitate the creation of a book!)
What I learned at Le Studio—one of the finest recording facilities in the world—served as the foundation for my career recording and mixing bands across Los Angeles, Canada, and Europe. When I returned to Le Studio in 1999, I took charge of maintaining, modifying, and improving much of the studio’s classic gear.
