Hi, Audiogeeks Vintage Sales is about 4 years old as a small business, but I, Pat B have been selling electronics since the early 80s. what started out as a hobby due to forced retirement has blossomed into a great little company that I enjoy running. My "Mission Statement " is simple .Sell vintage product in the best shape ,both cosmetically and electronically ,that I would be willing to purchase myself. Even though I do some work myself ,I let the people with the expertise do the very complicate work .I am very lucky to have a very experienced tech that started in NY at a now defunct Marantz repair/mgf. facility. His name,Reggie J. has been doing this work for the better part of 50 years. Between the two of us ,we have sold and /or worked on most of the major consumer brands that have been sold in the USA. Why vintage ,I ,myself love the simplicity of a good stereo receiver. All the different type of tapes recorders/playback units,CD players SACD,etc. The most important thing for us is anything that is sold be in 100% working condition ,and provide a warranty if possible. Yes ,we might a little more expensive, but it is very expensive to refurbish most of the products, parts are very scarce, replacement body parts are even worse ,we take what we find and make the product as close to "NEW" as can be done. I am a small private firm ,that is just trying to stay afloat and give my clients /customers the best possible product available. I do not mind answering questions ,and if you have a request for a certain model ,Please ask me .I have a lot of product not listed. as I/we grow ,this statement will change to reflect how the company has advanced ,but our customers are most important ,they got us here . As of February 2017 , there are 4 of us working on my vintage equipment. My original Marantz tech, a professional recording tech (he does most of the pro recording equipment in the twin cities) . An engineer, on the young side; but these guys are the best at unusual type of circuitry. And myself. I have been trying to expand into all of the vintage Marantz from late 60s to early 80s. It has been difficult to find the entry level units at good prices , impossible to find parts for many units (the balance control on the marantz 3200 is one of only 4 that is 250k, not 500k , like the rest if the 70s era equipment). Just some updates that are showing how we as a company is expanding. In 2017 we as an industry are seeing a huge price increase in Marantz products. Many models are becoming scarce and even parts unit demand high prices, I am trying to hold prices down ,but my coats are rising very fast . there has also been a huge increase in damage claims ,this is due to the very fast and often rough handling of products by all the shipping company's. This is why I use FED EX " Fragile Packing System " for most large items(35 IBS ) And above. I will always use new fed ex boxes for product as warranted. If there is a problem that a product is not working upon delivery ,please contact me to see if a claim should be opened or what should be done. customers should understand that the vintage market is not perfect, but I will never leave a customer out in the cold . this had to be added as there is just to many products that are being damaged no matter what shipper is used. Lastly , all product are sold as non returnable due to the illegal practice of Parts swapping. I hate to do this ,but the small companies that sell vintage electronics are getting hurt by this hideous practice. good luck and Enjoy The Music!
