Overview

The 4004C Cheyenne was introduced in the early '90s as a "Cresting Wave" style solidbody bass with a distinct visual flair. Unlike earlier 4000-series basses, the 4004C lacked a pickguard, body binding and other detailing that characterized earlier Rickenbacker basses. Instead, the 4004C had a simple two humbucker layout with two knobs and a gold-plated hardware. From 2000 onwards, this bass was given a maple top as the 4004CII or Cheyenne II.
