About this listing
MESA/Boogie TransAtlantic TA-15 25-watt, two-channel amplifier head in excellent condition, moderately played and well-maintained in a smoke-free, clean studio environment. I love this amp for its do-it-all versatility and wide tone palette, ability to go from bedroom quiet to ear-pounding with the flick of a wattage switch and crank of the volume dial, and friendly portability to grab-and-go like a 12-pound lunchbox. Oh, and it looks really cool too. This hard-to-find workhorse is one of the great shapeshifters from MESA/Boogie and can do snappy clean, chimey British buzzsaw, and tweedy American grind to classic MESA high-gain saturation, all with outstanding replication. It's in clean shape save for some light scratches and oxidation on the aluminum casing (I did my best to show them in the photos). Comes with a sturdy carrying bag, footswitch with cord, manual, and two new pre-amp tubes (approx. $50 value). Compared to the bigger sibling TA-30, the TA-15 is a markedly lighter, exceptional bargain that punches above its weight in every way.Additional description from MESA/Boogie:The TransAtlantic gets its name from the classic British and American sounds that inspire its dual channels. Channel one begins in traditional Vox tonal territory and has two modes; normal for the cleanest tones, while top boost adds more gain. Channel two has three modes: Tweed for clean to break-up, then Hi 1 and Hi 2 for more gain.Embark on a sonic journey with the Mesa/Boogie Transatlantic TA-15 Head, your quintessential companion for both the studio and the stage. This all-tube guitar amplifier head is a chameleon in the realm of tone, capable of delivering a diverse palette that usually requires multiple amps. The heart of its versatility lies in Mesa's patented Duo-Class and Dyna-Watt technologies, ensuring that each riff and chord resonates with unparalleled clarity and depth. Whether it's for an intimate club gig or a critical recording session, the TA-15 is your ticket to tonal nirvana.Key Features:All-tube design for authentic sound reproductionMesa's patented Duo-Class and Dyna-Watt technologies for versatile tonal optionsAll-tube head (EL84 power section, 12AX7 preamp tubes)Selectable power modes: 5W, 15W, and 25WTwo independent channels with five total modes -- Channel 1: Normal (Tweed) & Top Boost (Vox-style chime) and Channel 2: Hi 1 (classic British crunch), Hi 2 (modern gain), and clean/crunch variationsFootswitchable channels
