Ibanez 2350 Deluxe Black 1974 MIJ – Vintage Les Paul Custom – Pre-Lawsuit Era Condition: Used Brand: Ibanez Model: 2350 Deluxe Year: 1974 Country/Region of Manufacture: Japan Colour: Black w/ neck and body binding and purfling Body Type: Solid Body Handedness: Right-Handed String Configuration: 6 String Description For sale is an original 1974 Ibanez 2350 Deluxe in black, made in Japan during what is widely regarded as the golden era of Japanese guitar manufacturing. In the early 1970s, Ibanez (Hoshino Gakki) was producing exceptionally accurate and high-quality instruments inspired by classic American designs. The 2350 Deluxe sat at the top of Ibanez’s Les Paul-style range, closely mirroring a Les Paul Custom in construction, aesthetics, and feel. These guitars earned a reputation for consistency, excellent woodworking, and reliability at a time when many US manufacturers were struggling with quality control. The term “lawsuit era” is often used to describe this period, referring to the growing tension between US brands and Japanese makers due to the accuracy of these designs. Regardless of terminology, guitars from this era are now collectible in their own right, valued for their craftsmanship rather than imitation alone. This is a true vintage instrument, not a reissue or modern tribute. Why This Guitar Is Special Early-1970s Ibanez models like the 2350 Deluxe are increasingly sought after by players and collectors alike. They represent a period when Japanese manufacturers established a global reputation for precision, quality control, and attention to detail. Examples continue to rise in value and are now considered serious vintage instruments, not budget alternatives. Equally at home in a collection, studio, or on stage. This is a fantastic player Les Paul, and it totally screams. Grover tuners were also added when this was previously modified to the EMG set.
