With a Tele-like body designed by Leo Fender, the G&L ASAT Classic electric guitar is as close as you can get to a Telecaster without buying an actual Telecaster. The ASAT design in general was introduced in 1986, before Leo Fender's death, and so those manufactured prior to 1991 have his signature on the headstock. The G&L ASAT Classic sports smaller MFD pickups, rather than the larger soapbar pickups of the ASAT Special.
