Video: Park Amps Releases New 18-Watt Combo

Known for upholding the same high quality and handbuilt craftsmanship of classic British amplifiers, Park Amps has crafted a new 18-watt combo sure to uphold that legacy.

As you can see in the video above, the amp resembles the famous Marshall 18-watt, and features two EL84s and three 12AX7 tubes. But it's the circuit of a 1950s Watkins Dominator that is the common ancestor to both Marshall's and Park's 18-watters.

"The Dominator was a 15-watt amp. It had a V front, but it had two 10s, two channels—volume and tone in each channel—and tremolo built in, and it gives a beautiful, smooth, aggressive overdrive," Mitch Colby—the owner of both Park and Colby Amps—explains in the video above.

To hear that overdrive in action, be sure to check out our demo, shot live from the Summer NAMM 2018 show. For all the latest news and releases from the convention, click our banner below.
