The Martin D-45 is the pinnacle model at Martin Guitars, crafted with the finest materials and techniques in every aspect. Born from a special order by country singer Gene Autry, the Martin D-45 is Martin's top-of-the-line guitar. After 91 units were manufactured between 1933 and 1942, production ceased. However, in 1968, production was revived by Mike Longworth, who worked as a public relations and researcher for Martin guitars. Since then, it has remained active in various musical scenes, inspiring countless memorable performances and admiration. This particular instrument is a used 2011 model. It features a spruce top, Indian rosewood sides and back, mahogany neck, adjustable neck truss rod, ebony fingerboard and bridge, gold Gotoh Tomatic tuners, vertical headstock logo, abalone hexagon fingerboard inlay, abalone rosette and trim, and scalloped standard X-bracing. The '45 boasts a brilliant harmonic richness and intricately interwoven resonance, creating a tone rarely found elsewhere. It features a soft yet deep bass and a lustrous, bell-like treble. The ethereal tone, as if the sound is melting into the air, possesses an irresistible charm that captivates the listener from the very first listen. While there are some signs of use and minor scratches and dents, it remains in remarkably good condition considering its age. This coveted '45 is perfect for admiring, or for playing with passion and dedication. Original hard case included.
