It draws from the core gain structure and feel of the mid/late-’60s Tone Bender MkII Professional, then uses modern silicon and adjustable biasing for a more stable and controllable operating range
Fully discrete and hand-built. A JFET front end (buffer/impedance conversion) is used up front, making it more pedalboard-friendly and less picky about placement in typical buffered/wireless/multi-pedal chains.
- VOLUME: Output level (can push what follows).
- ATTACK: Fuzz gain and compression (from grainy to sustained).
- BIAS: Operating point/symmetry control (from smooth and full to tighter, more gated-style responses).
- TONE (toggle): Two-position voicing switch to quickly match brightness/shape to different guitars and amps.
Expect a classic British multi-stage fuzz vocabulary: pronounced mids, thick sustain, and a firm “bite” on single-note lines. With BIAS you can set the feel from smoother and more open to tighter and more gated-leaning decay.
It responds clearly to picking dynamics and your guitar’s volume knob—roll back for more edge and clarity, dime it for saturated, sustaining lead territory.
