The Audeze LCD-XC is a closed-back planar magnetic headphone widely recognized as the ultimate tool for mixing, mastering, and reference listening where isolation is required. Sharing the same driver technology as the acclaimed LCD-X, the XC offers significant isolation while maintaining a neutral, transparent, and highly revealing sound signature. The current generation (post-2021 update) features reduced weight, improved earpads, and refined tuning for greater accuracy.

Key elements of its design:

• Planar Magnetic Precision Features large 106mm planar magnetic drivers with Audeze’s proprietary Ultra-Thin Uniforce™ diaphragms for instant transient response and virtually zero distortion.
• Fazor Phase Management Equipped with Fazor waveguides that reduce resonance and phase interference, resulting in a cleaner sound with better high-frequency extension and 3D imaging.
• Professional Isolation The closed-back cup design provides substantial attenuation of ambient noise, making it ideal for recording engineers and musicians needing to monitor in quiet or loud environments without bleed.
• Efficient Performance With a low impedance of 20 ohms and high sensitivity of 100dB, the LCD-XC is easy to drive from a wide range of studio equipment, though it scales significantly with high-quality amplification.
• Premium Build Constructed with lightweight carbon fiber earcups (on current Carbon models) and a suspension headband system designed for long-term comfort during extended sessions.

User feedback highlights the LCD-XC’s "brutal honesty" and "surgical detail," allowing engineers to hear flaws that other headphones miss. Reviewers consistently praise its bass extension and control, noting it rivals many open-back flagships, while the improved weight and earpads of the current model have addressed previous comfort concerns.
