Here for sale we have a Gibson 1954 ES-175D VOS Limited Edition hollow body guitar in Jim Dickinson Burst finish. Made in the USA in 2015 this guitar is believed to be limited to 50 pieces worldwide when it was first released.

This instrument features a set-neck construction comprising a Maple top and back with period correct One Piece Solid Maple sides, a One Piece Mahogany neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard with split parallelogram inlays. This guitar is fitted with VOS Nickel hardware including a Compensated Top with Rosewood Base bridge and a three diamond tailpiece. The tuning machines are a set of Kluson Single Ring tuners with Tulip buttons, whilst a Nylon nut is featured. This instrument is equipped with a pair of Gibson MHS P-90 pickups which are wired to a 3-way toggle switch and independent volume & tone controls.

The One Piece Mahogany neck plays exceptionally well. The profile is very comfortable, and could be described as a 'Soft C' shape which provides easy reach across the fingerboard in all registers. This works in tandem with the 12" fingerboard radius to make jazzy chord voicings and smooth lines feel like a breezy and effortless affair. The single Florentine cutaway body design improves access to the upper register, meaning you can make use of all 20 frets. The shapely lines of the body feel great in the arms and with the arched top and back feel very comfortable in both standing and seated positions.

The hollow body design provides a bright, natural resonance that adds depth and dimension to the guitar's tone. When plugging the ES-175 in, it's very easy to see why it's favoured by jazz players around the world. The pair of Gibson MHS P-90 pickups offer a tone that is warm and round but also clear and articulate, chiming with a quality that is spacious and airy while also being distinct and bell-like. Lightly rolling down the volume and tone controls allows the guitar to ring through with its characteristic clarity and warmth, providing a richness that is sought after by many. The Laminated construction also makes this guitar resistant to feedback at high volumes, meaning that it is perfect for live situations.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall excellent condition, the front face demonstrates light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles.

Neck: Overall excellent condition, slight finish cracking is apparent around the connection between heel and body due to the differing expansion rates of the materials used. This is not indicative of any structural concern.

Body: Overall very good condition, a moderate finish crack is apparent in the treble side florentine cutaway. This has been tested and does not flex and has no evidence of a previous repair. This does not continue into the wood and is solely within the finish, not affecting the structural condition of the instrument. A lacquer crack is present between the body and heel of the neck, this does not affect the structure of the instrument. The rear face demonstrates some moderate scratching towards the treble side waist, piercing the finish slightly. All aspects of the body demonstrate infrequent very light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles.
