The Astatic Night K Eagle (Model: TUP9D104NKE) is a variation of the famous D-104 base station microphone, combining the sleek aesthetic of the Night Eagle with the advanced circuitry of the Silver K Eagle.
Key Features & Design
- Black & Gold Finish: Unlike the standard mirror-chrome Silver Eagle, the Night Eagle features a body finished in luxurious satin black, paired with bright gold/brass plating on the grille screen, side press-to-talk (PTT) bars, and locking clamp. The signature American Eagle is embossed on the back of the D-104 head.
- ETS Circuitry (End of Transmission Signal): The "K" in the model name stands for its built-in Roger Beep / ETS unit. When unkeying the mic, it sends a selectable end-of-transmission tone:
- Morse Code "K" (- . -), the radio telegraph symbol for "Over".
- Multi-tone Burst sound effect.
- Dual Relays & Anti-Pop: Designed with dual relays to prevent annoying "receiver pop" on electronic-switching transceivers.
- Fail-Safe Operation: If the internal 9V battery runs low, the ETS beep automatically disengages so the microphone continues operating normally.
- Switchable 20 dB Pad: Helps prevent RF feedback and over-modulation when paired with sensitive ("hot") radios.
