Here's a great-playing 1964 Gibson LG-1 that's full of vintage character and exactly what many collectors look for. As a 1964 example, this guitar has the wider 1.70" nut width which seems to be more desired. This guitar is structurally excellent with no cracks, breaks, or repairs to note unless mentioned above. The neck is straight, the truss rod operates as it should, and the guitar plays beautifully over the entire fingerboard. String height currently measures approximately 3/32" at the body. The original pickguard fell off many years ago and was replace with a black one a few years back.

Tonally, this LG-1 delivers the dry, woody, responsive sound that has made these vintage Gibson's so popular. It has a warm, open voice with excellent projection, making it equally at home for fingerstyle playing, flatpicking, or songwriting.

Cosmetically its a pretty clean one for the year. It shows honest age and playwear consistent with a well-loved 62 year old instrument. Expect finish checking, dings, scratches, chips, the normal chipping along the fingerboard edge and general wear throughout, all of which contribute to its unmistakable vintage vibe. The original finish black lights 100% throughout.

The included Original Gibson Chipboard Case is well worn. While it still serves its purpose and can be used to transport the guitar, a replacement case would be recommended if you plan on traveling with the instrument regularly. The Gibson Badge is still present on the interior pocket door, but the door has come unattached.
