Serial No. 528783) Near mint condition - looks almost unplayed. Straight grained Indian rosewood back and sides with master grade Sitka spruce top. It features abalone top and soundhole trim, abalone vertical C.F. Martin peghead inlay, forward-shifted scalloped bracing, traditional Martin Style 45 hexagon fingerboard inlays, elegant grained ivoroid bindings on the top, ebony fretboard and bridge, tortoise pickguard, and gold tuning gears with butterbean knobs. Martin uses their best woods on their 40 series guitars and it shows. The sound is powerful, with a clear trebles, strong midranges and the signature Martin boom in the bass. Plays very easily with a nice low action. Here is a short video clip of this instrument played by Nathan Beaumont. Comes with the original black molded Martin hardshell case and some of original paperwork. $4250 and shipping. Credit cards OK, trades considered.
