If you know, you know. The Cyclone is the offset Fender that time forgot — built 1998 to 2006, then quietly discontinued, and the first-year models like this one have a real cult following with indie, alt-rock, grunge, and shoegaze players.
This is a 1998 Made-in-Mexico Cyclone in Candy Apple Red, serial MN8114914 — genuine first-year production. It's got the DNA that makes these special: an offset Mustang-style poplar body, a short 24.75" Gibson-scale neck (rare air for a Fender), a Tex-Mex single-coil in the neck and an Atomic humbucker at the bridge, vintage-style tremolo, and that pearloid pickguard. Maple neck, rosewood fretboard, 22 frets.
Condition is honest and all-original — nothing swapped, no breaks, no repairs. The Candy Apple finish has aged into a beautiful warm patina, tuners show a little age, and there's light-to-moderate fret wear with plenty of life left. Everything works. No case, no tremolo arm.
Comparable Cyclones on Reverb run $815–$1,095. Priced at $899.
Local pickup only in Queens, NYC. Cash. No trades, no shipping. Text 516-776-8393 with "guitar sale" (I get a lot of calls, so text is best).
