I am offering a Rickenbacker 360/12 Jetglo from 2002, a handcrafted in Santa Ana, California (USA), semi-hollow 12-string electric guitar featuring top, back, and sides made of maple with solid maple center block (weighing only 3.48kg total), set maple neck with slim “C” neck profile and 41.4mm nut width, bound Bubinga fingerboard with Triangle Pale White inlays, two tonally versatile Rickenbacker USA Hi-Gain singlecoil pickups, high-quality Schaller tuners and 6-piece Rickenbacker bridge with the legendary floating “R” tailpiece in a beautiful Jetglo high-gloss finish with gleaming chrome hardware in excellent condition, including black Rickenbacker deluxe hardshell case and professional setup with 10-46 Elixir Nanoweb strings.

This 12-string version of the legendary Rickenbacker Model 360 shaped the “British sound” of the 1960s Beat era like almost no other guitar and, with its characteristic jangle sound, has been a fixture in the history of rock music since its introduction in 1963. This Jetglo 360/12 is modeled after the 1960s versions but has been subtly refined over the years; with its specially contoured body, it is likely the most comfortable Rickenbacker model—if not the most comfortable 12-string electric guitar of all.

This 2002 model comes from Rickenbacker’s Santa Ana, USA, facility and features a high-gloss black Jetglo finish. Together with the Pearl Triangle inlays set into the bound bubinga fingerboard and the oversized white pickguard, the guitar achieves a distinctive look that harmonizes beautifully with the white bindings and silver chrome hardware.

The largely hollowed-out maple body with a solid maple center block results in an excellent weight of 3.48kg, allowing the guitar to produce outstanding natural resonance even when played acoustically. Plugged in, two Rickenbacker high-gain singlecoil pickups deliver the characteristic dynamic, open semi-acoustic tone, which is ideal for shimmering harmonies with plenty of 12-string chorus effect.

A sound sample of the model (from 2007 only) can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.

The headstock design is technically sophisticated, featuring alternating tuner positions, which—unlike on all other 12-string electric guitars—allows for the elimination of a particularly long (and heavy) headstock. The result: no neck dive and an exceptionally well-balanced instrument. Unusually for a 12-string, the strings are also arranged so that the lower octave strings are positioned at the top, which is a fundamental component of the distinctive Rickenbacker 12-string sound.

The real highlight of this guitar is—and always will be—its playability. The slim neck profile with a narrow 41.4 mm nut width, the shortened 629 mm scale length, and the generously contoured body give the guitar incredibly smooth playability—in fact, it feels just like a 6-string when you play it!
