Gankogui Africa Contemporary - Iron

Three handmade Gankogui African "cow bells" made of heavy solid welded iron. Each one has two bells welded together at the base for a total of six distinctive sounds when struck with a wooden drumstick or hammer (not included). A metal handle is included. These are a traditional West African musical instruments originating from the Ewe people of Ghana, Togo, and Benin. They act as the rhythmic backbone and timekeeper in percussion ensembles producing two distinct high and low pitches when struck with a wooden stick. All three sizes - small, medium, and large are included for sale.
