Up for sale is a super clean and vintage 1940 Gibson Mastertone Special Lap Steel Guitar complete with its original hard case. These early Gibson lap steels are known for their outstanding craftsmanship, excellent tone, and distinctive Art Deco styling, making them highly desirable among both players and collectors.

This example is in great overall condition for its age and has been fully tested. Everything works exactly as it should and it is ready to play, although a fresh set of strings may be in order depending on your personal preference.

The original textured brown finish presents beautifully and has developed the wonderful vintage character that only comes with over 80 years of careful ownership. The cream fingerboard with brown geometric position markers gives this instrument the classic Gibson look of the era.
