Some guitars make a strong first impression.

Others continue to impress every time you pick them up.

This 2020 PRS SE Hollowbody Standard is firmly in the second category.

Built with a fully hollow mahogany body and finished in Fire Red Burst, this guitar blends warmth, resonance, and remarkable comfort into an instrument that consistently performs well beyond its price point. The subtle figuring beneath the translucent finish, elegant cream binding, ebony fingerboard, and iconic PRS bird inlays create a look that’s both refined and unmistakably PRS.

Whether you’re exploring jazz, blues, classic rock, worship, indie, or clean ambient textures, the SE Hollowbody delivers a lively acoustic response while retaining the clarity and stability expected from a PRS.

It’s one of those guitars that quietly earns a permanent place in a collection.

Condition

This guitar presents beautifully.

The Fire Red Burst finish has excellent depth and gloss, with attractive grain visible beneath the translucent finish. Hardware remains clean, the ebony fingerboard shows minimal wear, and the guitar has clearly been well cared for.

Any signs of handling are minor and consistent with careful ownership. Overall, it remains an excellent example of one of PRS’s most respected SE models.

Why This One Hits Different

The SE Hollowbody Standard has developed a reputation for offering an unusually premium playing experience without the premium price tag.

Its fully hollow construction gives it an airy, resonant character that feels alive in your hands, while the PRS neck carve, hardware, and electronics provide the consistency and reliability players have come to expect from the brand.

It’s easy to understand why so many owners who buy one intending to “try it out” end up keeping it for years.

Some guitars earn their reputation.

Others quietly exceed it.

The PRS SE Hollowbody Standard manages to do both.
