Selling my excellent condition original Nord Lead Rack. This synth has the PCMCIA SRAM memory card expansion which also upgrades the voices from 4 to 12 (it's all on the same PCB/card from Clavia).

MANY Nord Leads here on Reverb do not actually have the voice expansion. Look where the PCMCIA slot is on the back, if it just looks like a dark hole with no eject button, then they are 4-voice units. The separate 8-voice PCMCIA expansion card is vary rare to find individually and will sell for hundreds of dollars.

A PCMCIA SRAM memory card is also included. These cards by themselves are also getting difficult to come by and typically sell for ~$100 or more. If you want to save custom drum sets, you need the card. The card will also enable you to save hundreds of additional patches. Rack ears also included.

Note that the original Nord Lead is not the same sound engine as the Nord Lead 2 etc. The original Nord Lead sound engine was made by Peter 'Pelle' Jubel and the other team members who ultimately left Clavia to form Propellerheads Software (and to create Reason), they did not allow licensing of their Nord Lead sound engine by Clavia for new synths, so Clavia had to make their own for the Nord Lead 2 and others. So the Nord Lead "1" is unique in this regard, and so highly regarded.
