Missing Persons was one of the most influential bands of the 1980s New Wave movement. The band was founded by Dale and Terry Bozzio in 1980. Their biggest hits, Words, Destination Unknown and Walking In L.A helped define and establish New Wave. This piano was purchased by Terry and Dale Bozzio in 1983 at the height of Missing Person's success.

The piano can be seen on the cover of the band's 1984 album Rhyme and Reason and on the cover of their single Give from the same album. The photos for the cover were taken by world renown photographer, Helmut Newton.

The piano was used in the Bozzio's home recording studio and meticulously cared for. It remains in near flawless condition with no issues. It has been professionally tuned and maintained its whole life. It was just professionally assessed and given an excellent report with no issues noted.
