Here’s a 1964 Fender Jazz bass. It has been setup and sounding and playing great like pre-CBS Jazz bass should. This is one of the nicer playing and sounding pre-CBS Jazz basses that has come through the shop in awhile. Early on in its life it had a sunburst finish and was covered over with a white nitro finish. This bass has been played and has had long time owner who stated that when he bought it was white. It appears to have its original finish underneath the white finish. A bit of the white nitro is on the back of the bridge pickup cover. Pots have the date code 304-6420. Dating it to 20th week of 1964. Pickups are original and sound wonderful. Nitro pickguard has shrunk a bit but is still fully functional. Frets have some play wear but still has a decent amount of original height to them. Bass weighs in at 9.25 lbs. Comes with a Gator hardshell case. See pictures for condition.
