With its iconic hard-clipping distortion, no-frills layout and virtually indestructible build, the RAT is a true titan of the dirt box category-raw, aggressive and endlessly expressive. Available exclusively at Guitar Center, the limited-edition ProCo red RAT2 adds a bold aesthetic twist to that unmistakable design, swapping the classic black finish for a deep red colorway that stands out on stage and in the studio. Under the hood, this RAT2 remains unchanged, driven by the same legendary circuit that has earned its place on pedalboards for over 40 years. The timeless three-knob interface-Distortion, Filter and Volume-lets you dial in everything from transparent grit to full-on fuzzed-out mayhem, while the unique Filter control provides precise command over high-end bite. Housed in a road-ready steel enclosure with glow-in-the-dark graphics and tool-free battery access, the RAT2 will infest pedalboards with uncompromising RAT tone, complete with a red finish that's impossible to ignore.

Hard-Clipping Distortion Circuit for Dynamic Response and Wide Gain Range

At the heart of the RAT2 is its signature hard-clipping distortion circuit, delivering a tone that responds directly to your playing. Roll back your guitar's volume and it cleans up into textured grit; dig in and it pushes into singing sustain and aggressive saturation. From low-gain warmth to fuzz-like intensity, the RAT covers a wide range without losing definition, making it equally effective as a primary drive or as a way to push your amp into new territory.

Three-Knob Control Layout for Fast Tone Shaping and Versatile Sounds

The RAT2's simple control set is part of what makes it so effective. The Distortion knob sets gain and overall character, while the Filter control shapes the top end-rolling off highs for darker tones or opening up for added bite and presence.

The Volume control lets you match or boost your signal, giving you control over how hard you hit your amp's front end. It's a straightforward interface that encourages quick adjustments and rewards experimentation.

Rugged Steel Construction and

Exclusive Red Finish

Built with the same rugged steel enclosure that made the RAT a touring standara, the ProCo RAT2 is designed to handle real-world use without compromise. Glow-in-the-dark graphics improve visibility on dim stages, while the sloped face and heavy-duty footswitch keep operation straightforward and reliable. A tool-free battery compartment and low current draw make it practical for everyday use, whether on a pedalboard or as a standalone drive. Available exclusively at Guitar Center, the ProCo red RAT2 distortion pedal pairs legendary RAT tone with a striking limited-edition finish.
