The Dr. Z MAZ 18 Jr. is a highly acclaimed, hand-wired tube guitar amplifier made in the USA. Famous for its touch-sensitivity and versatility, it pushes 18 loud watts via EL84 power tubes. It is widely used by gigging and studio musicians across various genres.
Tone & Controls
The MAZ 18 is often described as a mix of an 80% modded Vox AC and a 20% Marshall Plexi. It provides chimey cleans, juicy hard rock crunch, and takes pedals exceptionally well.
- Volume (Gain): Controls the preamp gain for overdrive.
- EQ: Features highly musical Bass, Middle, and Treble knobs.
- Cut Knob: A highly versatile, Vox-style tone control for the output tubes that rolls off high frequencies.
- Master Volume: Allows you to dial in cranked-amp tone at lower, manageable bedroom or studio volumes.
