1953 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop w/ Bigsby + case

This killer looking original 1953 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop is a great example of why these mid 50's Goldtop guitars are coveted by almost every guitarslinger out there!

It's just like David Gilmour’s 1953 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop w/ Bigsby which he purchased in 2006 to be used on the “On an Island” tour. Later on, David used the guitar during a recording session for Bryan Ferry’s 2010 solo album Olympia, as can be seen in the “The Making of Olympia” documentary.

This beauty has no cracks, no breaks, no repairs and everything on this guitar is from 1953 with untouched solder (!!!) except for an old refret (old frets in the case) and an old '54/'55 B7 Bigsby.

The gold finish is all original with no overspray or repairs whatsoever. And look at that flamed maple top underneath the gold! The finish shows beautiful craquelé and weather checking, honest playwear all around and it has a warm and lush golden glow over it with some greenish details. The original trapeze tailpiece was removed and replaced by an original flathead screw B7 Bigsby from 1954/1955. The bowtie bridge looks super cool and the height is perfect for a nice low action. The current frets are in great shape and they play smooth and super easy. The pots, electronics, wiring, P90's, jack output etc are all original with untouched solder! All other parts are also original to this guitar like the pickguard, barrel knobs, trussrod cover, no-line single ring tuners, strap pins etc etc. 

It has just the perfect 50's neck with a very nice low action and comfortable round 50's feel. It really rings and is LOUD acoustically. Plugged the neck pickup is warm bluesy/jazzy and has a nice deep profound and open sound, the bridge pickup is aggressive, has a great attack and roars punchy lead sounds. The output is big (both pickups just under 8K Ohm) and this thing roars like there's no tomorrow! The sustain and sound on these guitars is just unbelievable... And with just 4.15Kg I think this is pretty amazing for a Bigsby'd Les Paul!

Comes in the original Lifton brown case with pink plush lining.
