Anchored by PRS playability and craftsmanship, the S2 Vela is perfect for players who want PRS build quality and reliability with a fresh aesthetic. The Vela represents the maiden voyage into an offset body shape for PRS and is both elegant and distinctive. Loaded with a PRS DS-01 humbucker in the treble pickup position and the PRS Narrowfield in the bass pickup position, the Vela has a bright, punchy tone that sounds great plugged into your pedalboard or straight into an amp. A coil-tap on the tone control allows the DS-01 pickup to split into single coils and explore a whole new range of tones. The PRS plate-style bridge features two brass saddles specifically designed for great sustain and perfect intonation so both rhythm and lead tones sound great no matter where you are on the fretboard. In the studio or on the stage, you won’t want to leave this guitar at home.

Product Features

• Solid Black Limba Body — Only 200 Made Worldwide Black Limba is a premium boutique tonewood valued for its lightweight resonance, open grain, and warm, harmonically rich tonal character with an airy, three-dimensional voice rarely found in production S2 instruments.
• The ultra-thin natural satin nitro finish in Natural Smokeburst applies minimal finish material between the wood and the environment — allowing the Black Limba body to resonate freely and breathe acoustically while showcasing the wood's natural grain and figure with a warm, understated elegance.
• The DS-01 bridge humbucker delivers punchy, forward-voiced output for driven rhythm and lead tones, while the Narrowfield neck pickup provides clear, articulate, hum-free single-coil-inspired clarity.
• The Pattern Regular carve provides a comfortable, substantial feel in the hand that suits a wide range of playing styles, while the East Indian rosewood fretboard delivers a warm, smooth playing surface with natural tonal articulation and the vintage-appropriate feel that complements the Vela's design aesthetic.
• Ivory-colored Old School Bird inlays give the rosewood fretboard a refined, vintage-inspired visual character that ties the overall aesthetic together.
• Specifically selected for their contribution to headstock resonance and balance, the Phase III non-locking tuners with lightweight wing buttons reflect PRS's attention to how every component — not just pickups and tonewoods — affects the overall tonal character of the finished instrument.
